A public-record research tool for officer certification actions, Brady/Giglio disclosures, court findings, and qualifying misconduct records. Results describe the record — not the person.

SOURCE DIRECTORY

California accountability sources

V3 also includes a registry of official state and county sources in data/official_sources.json so additional records can be imported without mixing policy pages with person-level findings.

California POST Certification Actions

Current certification actions include revocations, voluntary surrenders, ineligibility determinations, temporary suspensions, suspensions, and conditional certifications.

The Brady List should never imply that every POST action is a Brady/Giglio determination. Those are separate record types.

DON'T KNOW THE NAME?

Generate a public-record request.

Enter the details you have from a citation, arrest, stop, or other enforcement encounter. The tool creates a neutral California Public Records Act request for records sufficient to identify the involved officer or enforcement employee.

For parking tickets, the issuing person may be a civilian parking-control employee rather than a sworn peace officer.
PUBLICATION STANDARDS

Rules for putting a name on the site

1. Identity match

Name + agency, and preferably badge/POST identifier or another corroborating identifier.

2. Official source

Government, court, prosecutor, POST, or agency document. No social-media-only entries.

3. Exact status

Temporary suspension is not called revocation. Allegation is not called sustained misconduct.

4. Source preserved

Store source URL, document title, date, and last-verified date.

5. Corrections

Provide a documentary correction process for officers, agencies, attorneys, and the public.

6. No “clean” label

No result means only that the database currently contains no matching sourced record.
